All in a Day's Work

It's been a busy week. I'm looking forward to being done with my Saturday class and not teaching this summer. It was fun to make this card for spring time. Looks like I missed a few spots with the glue but I was still happy with it.

An Easter Evening Feast

This year for Easter, we invited a lovely couple from down the road who's children live too far away to celebrate Easter with them. They remind me of my grandparents and our kids even call them "Grandma and Grandpa", although they are old enough to be our grandparents as well. It seemed like the perfect time to pull out my grandmother's china and my mom's goblets from Italy. Although, the only really crafty part was the place cards for seating & perhaps the flowers from our garden (I didn't even pipe the deviled eggs because I didn't want to do more dishes), it was fun to take pictures of all of it.

I used hollowed eggs but I bet boiled eggs would work too.

Starting to set the table.

My husband made the roast.

We choose to do a pound cake for our "shortcake". Baking is a craft too, right?

Spring Day Photo Shoot

I had fun doing a mini session with these cuties and creating a background set. Inspiration came from an adorable set my sister (Susan Garner Photography) created. We were hoping to do it together when she came, but we ran out of time. For more information and more pictures, visit my post at Bendixsen Photography

Umbrella Collages

My 11-year-old niece came over this weekend and we made these collages. They are even better than we envisioned! My niece has creativity flowing through her veins and I just love it! I created the silhouette of the girl holding the umbrella based on a mural painting she saw and fell in love with. The silhouette of the couple is a free one I downloaded from online (here) and traced. Once we glued down the paper pieces, we did a layer of Mod Podge and then another layer after laying down the vinyl. Aren't the colors dreamy?

Here is my nieces', Girl with Umbrella collage:

Easter Wreath

This was my 'spring themed' craft, although I think it may have turned more into an Easter one. I, with much help from Michaels and Pinterest, put together this wreath. I'm thinking I could take off the nest and replace the bow with a less pastel color and add a birdhouse to make it more May/June appropriate. I love birdhouses and so it would be a good excuse to have my husband help me make one. It was fun to put together with my kids. They especially like putting the eggs into the nest. "Ohhhhh, cute!", my four-year-old daughter exclaimed. I really like having a wreath on our front door. We haven't since we moved into this house.
